It has been demonstrated that as firewall rules grow in number the potential for human error, excessive rules, default passwords, repetition and redundancy increases significantly.

Over time it is common to find that firewalls are managed by a succession of administrators. The impact of this can very often be that rules are rarely deleted due to perceived business impact and can rapidly grow the point of being unmanageable. Additionally third party temporary access rules may have been added and left in situ leaving high value information assets exposed.

The Firewall Audit service provides visibility of your firewall security posture, operational efficiency and can be tailored to reflect your corporate firewall policy as well as industry best practise guidelines.

Our unique approach is to ensure that we work with your operational security and risk management staff to understand the context of the deployment and help identify high value information assets and potential threat vectors.

Once an initial assessment is completed any urgent issues found are communicated and given context in line with your business. A detailed report is then produced giving detailed analysis of your firewalls posture. This information is then presented, in person, as chalk and talk session and if required we can assist with any remediation requirements you may have.

Currently the service supports the following firewall platforms: Check Point, Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper Netscreen & Palo Alto Networks.

The service is available either as a single assessment or can be delivered as part of a regular service to ensure your firewall systems risk posture is assured.
